Flibanserin is a daily oral treatment for acquired, generalized hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) in women younger than 65, including eligible postmenopausal women. It is not indicated to enhance sexual performance.
Important risks include severe low blood pressure and fainting in certain settings, sedation and drug interactions. Alcohol timing matters; liver impairment and certain interacting medicines are contraindications.
